| 2027 The Joriad™ North American Truffle Dog Championship | $20.00 |
Trained truffle dogs are essential to a healthy and quality-driven truffle industry. In 2015, the Oregon Truffle Festival introduced an amateur competition to drive interest. Now, dogs of all sizes compete in this annual competition, the only one of its kind in North America.
From Chihuahuas to Lagotto Romagnolos, dogs of all breeds are invited to compete in The Joriad, named after Oregon’s state soil. The Joriad’s first round welcomes spectators at the Lane County Fairgrounds in the morning and the top five dogs compete in a second and final round in the field. Truffle dogs and their owners gather in the evening for the perennial favorite Parade of Dogs.
