Dana Packard Dooley
Dana Packard started experimenting with chocolates after a business trip to Switzerland in the 1980s. In the 2000s, Packard and her husband Byron Dooley, left their tech jobs in Silicon Valley and traveled to Napa Valley to learn about winemaking. While Dooley was developing his skills as a vintner, Packard perfected her chocolates and learned to incorporate wine into her recipes.
Honest Chocolates opened in Newberg in 2007 and remains the only storefront chocolatier in Yamhill County. The company avoids shipping chocolates in summertime for obvious reasons. Come September, however, you can order many varieties by mail, or stop by to pick up a box.
