Chris Petres

Chris is co-owner and agriculturalist of the Nut Farm, which he shares with his spouse Sheri. After a move from his childhood home in Victoria, B.C., Chris and Sheri purchased an acreage where he could expand his passion for gardening and carried this forward to truffle farming. Located near Nanaimo, the farm consists of two separate truffle orchards. Since 2007 Chris has been hard at work cultivating the land, exclusively to produce the Perigord and Burgundy truffle varieties. Through perseverance Chris was able to produce his first Burgundy truffle in 2013. Four months later the Perigord harvest began and has grown today to commercial status.
