This comprehensive, one-day course explores the science and practice of growing truffles, beginning with an understanding of truffle biology and the environmental conditions necessary for successful production. Topics include site selection, soil suitability, orchard establishment, tree selection, pruning, ongoing maintenance, and the management practices that support healthy, productive orchards. The course also introduces harvesting, proper handling, and preparing truffles for market.
Designed specifically for prospective and beginning growers, the program focuses on the important decisions and real-world challenges involved in establishing and managing a truffle orchard.
