2-Day Truffle Farming A - Z

Sold Out

If you’re new to truffle cultivation or thinking about adding a truffle orchard to your property, this course is for you. Our inaugural Truffle Farming A – Z is an educational, two-day immersion on Friday, January 24th and Saturday, January 25th. Led by Dr. Charles Lefevre, co-founder and president of the Oregon Truffle Festival and founder and president of New World Truffieres, Inc, this course will include a panel of speakers and industry experts. Day one takes place in the classroom, with morning and afternoon lecture sessions covering a range of topics including site evaluation, orchard planning, site preparation, planting, weed control, pest control, irrigation, pruning, harvesting, and logistics of grading, handling, and shipping truffles. Day one also features several orchard case studies from established growers discussing their methods, results, and lessons learned. Day two takes place in the field, touring established orchards, including one currently among the most productive in North America. The tour also features trained truffle dogs in action and a winery luncheon. This two day experience includes truffled breakfasts and lunches on Friday and Saturday.

Because the launch of this short course represents a substantial undertaking, we’re putting the Truffle Growers’ Forum on hiatus with the expectation of re-launching that industry gathering as the natural complement for Truffle Farming A-Z.
